Tirzepatide Reconstitution Calculator

Tirzepatide vials are large (10 to 60 mg) and entries are in milligrams, so the water amount decides whether a draw is 10 units or 40. Presets below cover the common vial sizes.

More water = more units per dose (easier to measure). Less water = fewer units (fits smaller syringes).

Reconstitution Supply Kit

  • 10 U-100 insulin syringes, 31G, 5/16" needle (the 30U size this calculator defaults to)
  • 50 sterile 70% isopropyl alcohol prep pads
  • 1-quart sharps container so used needles never go in the trash
  • Printed reconstitution and storage card

Worked examples

30 mg vial + 2 mL water, entering 2.5 mg
Concentration 15 mg/mL → 150 mcg per unit → draw 16.7 units (0.167 mL) on a 30U syringe. That vial holds about 12 such draws.
30 mg vial + 3 mL water, entering 2.5 mg
Concentration 10 mg/mL → 100 mcg per unit → draw 25 units (0.25 mL) on a 30U syringe. That vial holds about 12 such draws.
10 mg vial + 1 mL water, entering 2.5 mg
Concentration 10 mg/mL → 100 mcg per unit → draw 25 units (0.25 mL) on a 30U syringe. That vial holds about 4 such draws.

Notes for this calculator

A useful habit with tirzepatide is mixing to a round concentration. 10 mg/mL makes every unit 0.1 mg, so a 2.5 mg entry is 25 units, 5 mg is 50 units, and you can read the syringe without a calculator. The preset table shows which water amounts produce 10 mg/mL for each vial.

Milligram entries on a 30U syringe run out of room fast. If your draw is over 30 units the calculator will suggest a 50U or 100U syringe, or less water.

Common questions

How much bacteriostatic water for a 30 mg tirzepatide vial?

3 mL gives 10 mg/mL, so 2.5 mg is 25 units and 5 mg is 50 units. 2 mL gives 15 mg/mL, so 2.5 mg is about 17 units. Enter your own numbers above to see the exact draw.

How many units is 2.5 mg of tirzepatide?

At 10 mg/mL it is 25 units. At 15 mg/mL it is about 17 units. At 5 mg/mL it is 50 units. The concentration comes from your vial size and water.

How many doses are in a 30 mg vial?

Divide 30 mg by your entry: 2.5 mg gives 12 draws, 5 mg gives 6. The calculator shows this as doses per vial and, if you add the vial price, the cost per draw.

Does the calculator recommend a dose?

No. You enter the dose your protocol calls for and it converts that into syringe units, mL, and doses per vial. It never suggests what to take.

Why is my draw too big for the syringe?

The concentration is low for that dose. Either use a larger U-100 syringe or mix the next vial with less water. The calculator shows the exact water amount that would fit your syringe.

About this tool. Built and maintained by the team at ThePeptideStore. The arithmetic is the standard U-100 reconstitution formula (concentration = mg ÷ mL; mcg per unit = concentration × 10; units = dose ÷ mcg per unit) and every result is recomputed live in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to a server. Reviewed 2026-09-02. This calculator does arithmetic on numbers you type. It is not medical advice and does not recommend any dose.
